Cosmetology

Cosmetology introduces students to providing beauty services such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair as well as manicures, pedicures, and specialized nail services to their clients. Students operate Avantage—the Vantage hair salon—three days a week and serve local clients. Upon completion of the program and meeting the requirements of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, students are eligible to take the state examination prior to graduation.

Students will learn to:

Create, cut, style, color, and recommend hair designs for clients in the state licensed school hair salon
Use advanced techniques to deliver a wide-range of skin care and nail treatments
Experience working in a full-service salon environment

INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS

Eligible for State of Ohio Cosmetology License pending passage of State Board exam.
