Types of aid available

FEDERAL PELL GRANTS:
Eligible Programs:  
Practical Nursing, LPN-RN Transition, Police Academy
 
The Pell Grant is need-based aid provided to undergraduate students by the Federal Government.  This grant does not need to be repaid, except under certain circumstances.  Programs must be at least 600 clock hours in length to qualify for federal aid.  

Apply by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at Studentaid.gov.

FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY GRANT (FSEOG):
Eligible Programs:  Practical Nursing, LPN-RN Transition, Police Academy 

This campus-based grant is funded by the Federal Government with a 25% match from the institution as a tuition waiver.  This grant does not need to be repaid, except under certain circumstances.  Eligibility is based on financial need as determined through FAFSA results.  Recipients must be enrolled in an eligible program of 600 or more clock hours.  Awards vary from $300 to $500.  This campus-based grant has limited funds so students are encouraged to file their FAFSA early.
