Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) and  General Educational Development (GED® ) diploma,  also known as Ohio High School Equivalence Diploma

The ABLE program is designed to assist any adults who wish to strengthen their academic skills. Many adults attend ABLE classes to refresh and improve their skills prior to entering college, for employment-related training or to prepare for the GED® exam. ABLE classes are provided at convenient times and locations throughout the Vantage Career Center service area and are free of charge.


All new and returning students must attend orientation prior to starting classes.

GED®Test information for 2014-15

In January 2014, there were several significant changes in the content, format and cost of the GED® exam. The new test, which is entirely computer - based, includes Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science and Social Studies sections. The cost  is $30 for each section or $120 for the complete test. For residents of Ohio, a voucher is available for first-time test-takers to assist in covering up to $80 of this cost. To participate in the voucher program, test-takers must contact Vantage Career Center for additional guidance and assisitance prior to registering and paying for the test.
