Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) and Ohio High School Equivalence Diploma, also known as General Educational Development (GED® ) diploma

The ABLE program is designed to assist any adults who wish to strengthen their academic skills. Many adults attend ABLE classes to refresh and improve their skills prior to entering college, for employment-related training or to prepare for the GED® exam.

ABLE classes are provided at convenient times and locations throughout the Vantage Career Center service area and are free of charge. Orientation for ABLE/ GED® classes (required for all new students) will be provided during the first week of each class session*.

New GED®Test information for 2014

The GED® test has been updated and is now only offered as a computer-based test. The new test consists of four parts: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science and Social Studies. The cost for the 2014 GED®is $120.00 or $30.00 for each section. To assist Ohio test-takers in reaching their goals of obtaining a high school equivalency certificate, a voucher of up to $80.00 is available for first time test-takers that can be applied to the 2014 computer-based GED®test fees.
