Vantage Career Center is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Ohio Council for the Social Studies Emerging Teacher of the Year Award recipient is our very own Social Studies Instructor, Ms. Cheyenne Oechsle.
This OCSS award recognizes a teacher who is in their first 5 years within the Social Studies education profession and exemplifies advancements in social students and dedication to their students while finding new ways to engage them through passion and innovative lessons.
Vantage colleague and mentor, Mr. Tony Unverferth, says, "As Cheyenne's mentor, I can confidently say she has all of the qualities of an amazing teacher. Her students appreciate her positivity, energy, and willingness to get to know them, yet they also respond well when she challenges them to go outside of their comfort zone to complete some of the fun activities she comes up with to help them better understand our government and the history which led into its foundation."
