Building and Grounds Maintenance Workers perform a variety of tasks necessary to achieve a pleasant and functional environment both indoors and outdoors. These workers have skills in many different areas. They may work on plumbing, electrical and heating systems or they may work outdoors doing landscaping, mowing or concrete work.
Building and Grounds Maintenance workers should enjoy variety, be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
During the school year, students will renovate an existing structure in Van Wert. During demolition and renovation, students will learn basic electricity, plumbing, roofing. They will install and maintain residential and commercial landscaping and provide ongoing property and building maintenance.
