Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants are commonly acknowledged as the most versatile member of the allied health team. This program meets the demands of the growing healthcare field by teaching the academics and skills necessary for a successful career as a multi-skilled Medical Assistant in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.

Included in the course are: Medical Terminology I and II, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, the Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Law & Ethics, EKG Training and Phlebotomy. In addition to focus classes, an externship is provided, connecting classroom learning with hands-on experience. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be eligible to take an industry/employer-recognized certification exam.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm – 10:00pm

Students must attend a mandatory orientation held the week prior to classes beginning.

WorkKeys test required before taking this course.

Information regarding orientation will be sent to the students at a later date.

Tuition fee: $5,500

· Includes book usage, lab fees and certification exam fee.

· Financial Aid and Veteran’s Educational benefits are available for those who qualify.

· A high school diploma or GED is required.

· Students must meet with the Transitions Enrollment Coordinator and Financial Aid Coordinator prior to signing up for this program.
